Nepal Telecom has increased the validity of all 28-day prepaid packages to 30 days. From April 11, the telecom has increased the validity of 28-day packages under the prepaid service by two days. Under this, all 28-day prepaid voice, data and combo packages are now 30 days. Although the telecom has made the information about the extension of the package period public, the charges have also been increased in the same proportion.
According to the data, Nepal Telecom has also changed the charges and features while making the prepaid packages 30 days. Before Nepal Telecom made the prepaid packages 30 days, there was a provision to take a 299-minute all-network voice pack for 28 days for 169 rupees. Now, when it is made 30 days, a 333-minute voice pack is given for 189 rupees. In this way, it seems that only 20 rupees have been increased in this package, while the talk time has been increased by 34 minutes.
Similarly, if we calculate the per-minute voice pack, this 28-day package used to cost 0.565 rupees per minute. The new package seems to cost Rs 0.568 per minute. In this way, the new package is more expensive than the old one by Rs 0.003 per minute.
On the other hand, earlier, a voice pack valid for 299 minutes and 28 days could be purchased from NTC to NTC for Rs 162. Currently, the 30-day feature of NTC to NTC voice pack has been removed.
Earlier, the Voice Allnet 200-minute voice pack and 2 GB data combo pack was available for Rs 199 for 28 days. Now, 2 GB data and 300-minute voice pack are available for Rs 233.6. That is, this pack has been increased by Rs 34.6.
Talking about the service, while the data is the same in both the old and new combo packs, 100 minutes have been added to the voice pack. If we calculate the voice pack per minute, the old pack costs Rs 0.995 and the new voice pack costs Rs 0.779. That is, customers who buy a 30-day voice pack seem to have benefited by Rs 0.216 per minute.
Earlier, the “Sajilo Unlimited 699 Prepaid Pack” available for Rs 699 for 28 days offered 15 GB data, unlimited all-net voice calls and 200 SMS. Now, the new pack available for Rs 799 for 30 days offers 5 GB (total 150 GB) data per day, unlimited all-net voice and 250 SMS. The fee for this package has increased by Rs 100.
Since voice is unlimited in both the old and new arrangements of this package, a direct comparison of voice is not possible. However, there is a big difference in the charges incurred on data. While the old pack had a facility of 15 GB data, the new pack has increased by 10 times to 150 GB. In this way, while the old pack cost Rs 46.6 per GB, the new pack costs only Rs 5.33 per GB. That is, the new pack is about Rs 41 cheaper per GB.
Under the data package (Summer), 700 data was previously available for 28 days at Rs 299 per day. Which was a total of 19.6 GB of data. Now, 1 GB of data (total 30 GB) is available for Rs 349 per day for 30 days. The fee for this package has increased by Rs 50.
When calculating the fee per GB, it is seen that the old pack costs Rs 15.25 per GB and the new pack costs Rs 11.63. That is, the new pack is about Rs 3.62 cheaper per GB than the old one.
Earlier, a 500 SMS Allnet pack was available for Rs 150 for 28 days. Now, the same pack has been extended for 30 days at the same price. When comparing the old and new packs of voice, data, SMS and combo packs, it is seen that the price of the pack has increased by increasing the validity period of the pack by two days. However, when the amount is increased, the service fee per minute or per GB can be seen to have decreased.
